يحتفل بعض مَن ينتسبون إلى الإسلام في بعض البلدان الإسلامية وغيرها بيوم 14 فبراير باعتباره يوم الحُب العالمي الذي يُعبّر عن المشاعر الرومانسية والعواطف المحمومة ، وهم لا يعلمون حقيقة هذا العيد والذي يُسمى أيضاً { بعيد القسيس فالنتاين } ، ويعود منشأه إلى طقوس الرومان الوثنية ، حيث كانوا يحتفلون في منتصف فبراير من كل عام احتفالاً جنسياً هابطاً وذلك لتعظيم آلهتهم المزعومة ، ولترسيخ عقائدهم حاول بعض القساوسة تهذيب ذلك العيد بوسائل شتى ، فمن هذه المحاولات اختارت الكنيسة في ذلك الوقت قسيساً نصرانياً أعزباً ، وهو القس فالنتاين الذي هلك في 14 فبراير ، ومن هنا سُميَ هذا العيد بالفالنتاين ، ولكي تكون القصة مشوقة أضافوا بعض الأساطير ومنها أنه تحدى مرسوماً من الإمبراطور يحظر الزواج والخطبة وقد قُبض على فالنتاين متلبساً بجريمته وحُكم عليه بالموت نتيجة إشرافه على عقد قرانات كثيرة ، وخلال حبسه داوى ابنة سجّانه من العمى فوقعت في غرامه ، وعندما جاء وقت إعدامه أرسل إليها رسالة ممضاة بـ { المخلص فالنتاين } ، ومن هنا يتبين أن هذا العيد أصله وثني لتعظيم إله من آلهة الرومان ، انتهى.

Some Moslems in some Moslem and other countries celebrate the 14th of February as the international day of love on which romantic feelings and warm sentiments are expressed. Those people do not realize the reality of this day or festival, which is also called “Saint Valentine’s Day”.
The origin of this festival is related to the idolatry rituals by the Roman’s who used to annually hold on mid February an immoral sexual celebration to glorify their alleged gods. In order to establish their beliefs, some saints tried to refine or beautify that celebration in various ways. One of them was that the church selected at that time a single Christian saint; Saint Valentine, who died on the 14th of February. Hence this celebration is called Valentine’s Day. In order to make the story interesting, they added some myths to it. One of these myths is that Saint Valentine opposed a decree by the Emperor which prohibited marriage and engagement. So Saint Valentine was arrested red-handed and sentenced to death as a result of conducting many marriages. While in jail, he treated the daughter of his jailer who was blind, and she loved him. When the time for executing him came, he sent a letter to her signed by “Sincere Valentine”.
This clearly shows that the origin of this day is idolatry aimed at glorifying a Roman god.
The point is:
Prophet Mohammed, prayers and peace of Allah be uopn him, said that if anyone performs something that is not in conformity with our religion, his deed is rejected upon him.
Remember, you the Moslem who glory yourself on your religion, that you have only two eids; Al Fitr and Al Adha.
